Booking your HS&E test
Please make sure you have read and understood the standard booking terms and conditions (PDF, 153KB) before you make a booking.
You can book your HS&E test with Pearson VUE online/by phone or directly with your local Internet Test Centre (ITC).
Information you need to give when making a booking
Your personal email address (to ensure you receive your booking confirmation email)
Your Full UK postal address
Which type of HS&E test you want to take
Which test centre you want to take the test at
Your CITB registration number if you have previously taken a HS&E test or you have applied for a CSCS, CPCS or CISRS card
Your chosen method of payment, we accept debit and credit cards. Alternatively, you can pay with vouchers purchased from our online shop, (please note vouchers can only be redeemed at Pearson Professional Centres)
If any additional support is required during your test (e.g translators, British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, reading difficulties support)
If you are booking on behalf of the candidate please ensure you provide CITB with all the personal details of the Candidate including their name, address, date of birth, national insurance number, contact number and email address. Third party booking agent resale policy.

To book by phone, call 0344 994 4488. Lines are open from 8am to 8pm (Monday to Friday), and from 8am to 12pm (Saturday). The line is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

What to do on the day of the test
arrive at least 15 minutes before your test starts
bring your confirmation booking email or letter
bring ID that includes your photo and signature; read the full ID Policy here.*
After your test, you must keep your Score Report safe as it has important information on it relating to your card application
* If you are taking your test in a prison, please email testingservicesfeedback@citb.co.uk for further information on acceptable forms of ID.
If you are under 16:
You will need to take a completed parental consent form (PDF, 120KB) with you to your test, along with an acceptable form of ID. Check the ID Policy for details.
